All of our shooting workouts and classes begin with 1- and 2-handed form shooting, no matter what level we are working with.
For younger athletes or players who are trying to make adjustments to their form, we will spend as much time is necessary focusing on form shooting and staying within a close range of the basket. The drills that we use at this level allow our players to focus on all the foundational aspects that are important when building a consistent jump shot. Players will first learn spot shooting before progressing to shooting off the dribble or from a pass (both straight on and from different attack angles). Once athletes are able to perform these drills correctly consistently; we begin to speed up this process so that they are eventually training at game-speed.
For older and more experienced athletes, we begin to add resistance and balance elements to our warm-up and form shooting drills. The workout itself will consist of drills that focus on go-to moves off the dribble, reverse pivots and split-stance catches from the perimeter & position-specific in-game reads.
Off the court, we have short- and long-term goal setting approaches that are combined with self-sufficient workouts that are measurable and can be tracked both by our players and by our staff.
